FIX: Outlook 2007 beta 2 hangs with Attensa 1.2
Advertisement:
Tired of Outlook 2007 beta 2 frequently hangs on startup? And don't you find it strange that it almost immediately revives the moment you try to kill it?
This is the reason: AttensaEngine.exe
Just try it: open your Process Explorer (or Task Manager) and kill AttensaEngine.exe, you'll see Outlook come back to live. Unfortunately at that point it is still unstable, opening a single message will crash it.
Here's the solution:
1) Disable Attensa by going to the menu "Tools | Trust Center | Add-Ins" then click on "Manage COM Add-Ins" and remove the check box before "Attensa for Outlook".
2) Import your Attensa.opml file via the menu "File | Import and Export", then choose "Import RSS Subscriptions from an OPML file". (You did export your Attensa list to an opml-file, right?)
Hope this helps!
